Many thousands of visitors flock to Scotland every year just for the scenery.
Although it is a small country, the scenery is astonishingly diverse with a
completely different outlook ready to surprise you round almost every corner.
The countryside varies from the rolling hills and moorlands of the Border
Country to the rich fertile plains of East Lothian, Ayrshire, Moray and
Aberdeenshire to the mountains of the Highlands and the gaunt, jagged peaks of
Skye and Wester Ross to the brooding fjordic sea lochs of the West Highlands
(Scotland has one of the longest coastlines in Europe!).
The ever-changing light in Scotland lends every view a different character
through each day and each season - providing endless opportunities for the
photographer. The seasons bring their own colours from the symphony of bright,
fresh greens in the spring to the purple hues of the summer heather to the
crescendo of golds of the autumn foliage.
Scotland has supported mankind since the end of the last ice age and the
evidence of the past is everywhere - ancient castles and ruins, battlefields,
churches and drove roads. Much has been preserved in recent times and most is
readily accessible.
Scotland is also a modern, vibrant nation which combines 21st Century
standards of comfort and technology with its proud traditions of the past.
Tartan, whisky and haggis rub shoulders with oil, electronics, insurance and
banking.
A hunting trip in Scotland will always be much more than a hunting trip! It
is a memorable insight into age-old cultures to be enjoyed with excellent local
produce and, of course, world-famous hospitality. |
